Set up or create anchors/bookmarks

SwimOffice Admin - Email/Print/Calendar

To create an anchor please follow the steps below.

  1. Go to the desired page
  2. Click the Edit link located in the top right
  3. In the content editor scroll to the point on the page where you would like to Anchor and click the cursor there
  4. Click the Anchor button (looks like a flag)
  5. This will open the Anchor Properties dialog; fill in the Anchor Name box with the description for this spot and click OK (make sure the name does not have any spaces or punctuation other than hyphens; use only letters, numbers and hyphens to separate words)
  6. Scroll to where you want to link to the anchor and click the cursor there
  7. Type or find the phrase to be used as a link and highlight it
  8. Click the Link button located on the second row right side of the editor (looks like a globe with a chain)
  9. This will open the Link Dialog ; click the Link Type drop down menu and select Link to anchor in the text
  10. This will cause two new menus to appear; click the Anchor Name drop down and select the anchor name you defined in step five
  11. Click OK
  12. Always remember to click Save Changes when finished!

If you want to link to the anchor from another page, follow these additional steps.

  1. Copy the URL of the page you are on in your browser's address bar (note you cannot be in edit mode when you do this)
  2. Click the Edit link located in the top right
  3. Click the Source button
  4. Find the anchor hashtag (#) and click the cursor between the opening quote and hashtag; it looks something like this
    <a href="#anchor-label">
  5. Paste (Ctrl+V) the URL you copied in step one; now it will look something like this
    <a href="">
  6. Highlight and copy (Ctrl+C) the anchor code and text; it looks similar to this
    <a href="">Jump to anchor</a>
  7. Optional: Delete the anchor link code you just copied from this page if you don't want it there and Save Changes
  8. Go to the page where you want the link to the anchor
  9. Click Edit
  10. Click Source
  11. Put the cursor where you want the link and paste (Ctrl+V) the code you copied in step six
  12. Save Changes
