Accounts cannot be merged so there are two options.
- If there is one account that has no financials attached to it you can put a check mark to the left from the account member button and hit Delete. Times do not delete! All Times are retained in your times database and once you add a member and associate their correct USA# with their profile their times auto attach.
- The more common scenario is that an someone already had an account with billing attached to it and perhaps all their swimmers, and then they go into the registration system and do a brand new account with athletes and then pay causing the system to apply financials to it.
In the second scenario, TeamUnify suggests you keep the old account since we assume it has a longer history of billing attached to it which means the account needs to have this view. Copy any relevant info from the new to the old (it helps to open each one in a separate browser tab so you can just switch back and forth between them), then cancel/hide the new account so the financials are retained in the system.
Two very important things:
- Make sure the email addresses in the two accounts are different! If you copy the email address from the old to the new (or vice versa) and cancel the new, when the user tries to login it may say their account is inactive because it’s trying to use the canceled/hidden account. Change the email address(es) to something bogus.
- Make sure the USA swimmer ID in the member profile (Build ID #) is correct. If the parent changed the swimmer’s info, such as adding a middle name, the ID will be different and not attach to their results. Let us know the old and new IDs and we’ll update the IDs in all the swimmer’s results, and then all their results will attach to the swimmer’s new ID and be visible.
